How the system works

Bookings Drive Automations That Create Tasks

Automations and Tasks are driven by your Bookings. When a new Booking is received, all your Automations are checked against the Booking to see if they should be used. For each of those Automations that apply, a Task is created, and scheduled.

Your bookings in BetterGuest are kept in sync with your Bookings in your PMS - whenever you update a Booking in your PMS, we are notified of the change and update our copy accordingly.

Importantly, Tasks are updated when Bookings are updated. For example, when a Booking's check-in date changes, we update the timing of Tasks that are scheduled around that check-in date. When a Booking is cancelled, all Tasks attached to that Booking are cancelled as well.

Every establishment is different, as are the services and experiences that hosts offer guests. BetterGuest is completely customisable, and you can configure your BetterGuest account to match your needs as a Host.

TIP

A good place to start is incorporate the communications you currently send out. Add to that ones you would like to send, but don't get around to. You decide what to send, and when.

Who Has The Truth About A Booking

In almost all instances we regard your PMS as the "ultimate source of truth" with regards a Booking. BetterGuest keeps in sync when it is informed about a Booking or changes to a Booking.

SOME EXCEPTIONS

There is the odd exception. Some PMSs do not store the ages of the children for a Booking. In this case, BetterGuest will retain this information, and you may need to "manually" merge when a Booking is amended (don't worry, our merge tool does all the heavy lifting for you).
