SMS Templates are used to send SMSs (Form Automations can be configured to send SMSs as well).

Edit an SMS

Use the SMS Template editor to create your message, and look at the Preview to see what the guest will receive. The message can include Personalisation Variables.

 

 

SMS Pricing

The length of your SMS and the mobile number destination country will affect pricing.

SMS Units

SMSs are priced based on an "unit" of 160 characters. If your message is longer than 160 characters, it will consume more than one unit.

Local vs International

The price to send an SMS also differs based on the mobile number's destination country. Sending an SMS to South African mobiles costs 25c per SMS / unit, while sending to foreign mobile numbers will incur a higher cost, typically with a maximum of R1.50 per SMS / unit. If we notice an increase in the volume of SMSs sent to a particular country, we can negotiate cheaper rates to that destination. Please contact us for more information or for assistance.

TIP

Variables can differ in length, so we recommend that you keep your messages well under 160 characters to allow for variable length (e.g. guest surname). Alternatively, your message will simply consume more than one unit.
